A Candle And Kindness.
A candle and Kindness.
A candle lit in the darkest moments of someone’s life has the biggest impact.
It gives life a deeper meaning and significance.
Ones who give from their heart and find a reason to give are always light bearers.
Giving is not very dreadful or hard.
You can give anything. That is the beauty of it.
You can give a few minutes of uninterrupted attention to someone.
You can give kindness to someone who is mean to you.
You can give money, possessions, love…
Giving, just like everything else, has to start from you itself.
Be kind to yourself today.
I still have trouble being kind to myself.
Being kind and compassionate towards one’s self is so far the hardest thing I have done. I had to get over my belief that self-compassion is selfish.
I will say the airline policy of oxygen masks helped.
I might be repeating something everyone knows and yet doesn’t give thought to.
If you do not put your mask on and help a child who is with you, and you are out of time, and you don’t make it, the survival chances of the child will go down.
The basic human instinct is to protect our loved ones. Most times when in conflict, our visions are clouded. We do not see long-term. We react instead of acting. I am guilty of this a lot.
Today, be kind to yourself like you would be to someone else.
Ask this question.
“If this was my child/parent/partner/friend/stranger, would I be kind?”
May love and light be with you today.
